Suwannee River

Completely.

This will be a little more challenging

7 or 8-day trip with 30 to 40-mile days.

Found the below on www.sherpaguides.com website.

Note the part about being “compulsive.”

"The Suwannee River begins officially 2 miles north of the boat basin

entrance from Stephen C. Foster State Park at the confluence of the East and

Middle forks at the northern end of Billys Island. Compulsive canoeists can

paddle north then turn around so they can say they started at the beginning…”

We’ve had 4 great trips in four years and hope to continue.

Right now planning to do the Suwannee River again.

It was a great trip and we’ve always wished we started at the

very beginning of the river so here’s our chance…

**  See our Past Trips section for more info on the Suwannee River including

photos and very good contact/useful info.  We will be doing it again but

starting around 20 miles northeast of where we started last time.

Below are maps that show our route which traces the Suwannee River through Florida.

Total distance from its beginning in Georgia’s Okefenokee Swamp to the

Gulf of Mexico near Suwannee, Florida is around 250 miles.
